Identity & Legacy

Three generations of criteria,

a new era of excellence

A Redefined Journey

Our story did not begin in a rose plantation; it started much earlier.

For over 30 years, we built a solid operation in another industry—one that generated jobs and stability.

Until the world stood still…

The pandemic and social crises marked a breaking point: What took decades to build suddenly ceased to exist.

But this is not a story about what was lost.

It is a story about what we chose to do next.

Instead of taking shortcuts or rebuilding out of urgency, we chose to do it right. To stand firm on our principles.

And to start anew, with criteria.

In 2023, Platonoff Roses was born.

Not as a continuation.

As a new way of doing business.

With the support of family, friends, and a team that chose to stay, we began to build from scratch—an operation focused on execution quality, not volume.

The first shipment was not the largest.

But it was the most important.

Because it did not represent growth.

It represented direction.

The Standard of the Unforgettable

The environment where it is grown defines what the flower can sustain afterward.

At 3,200 meters above sea level, conditions do not adapt to the flower… the flower adapts to them.

The water, free of carbonates and organic matter, allows for clean development. The equatorial light maintains a constant cycle throughout the year. And the páramo cold slows down growth, forcing the plant to concentrate its energy.

And that result does not go unnoticed.

It translates into structure, durability, and a visual presence that holds up even under demanding conditions:

  • Longer stems of architectural firmness

  • Large-format blooms

  • More intense colors of a deep saturation

  • And extended durability when events demand it!

The Ecuadorian rose is the recognition of a durability and symbolism that only volcanic soil can sustain.

Not all flowers reach these stages.

And not all are made to do so.

Criteria as a Legacy

Platonoff is not just a name; it is a way of doing things.

It is a legacy spanning generations, represented in a crest that defines our identity today.

But beyond the symbol, what defines this family is a constant choice:

To do what is right, even when it would be easier to do otherwise.

This resurgence was not a solitary journey.

It was made possible thanks to a team that chose to stay, to partners who believed in the process, and to a close-knit network that supported us when it was needed most.

Today, that same criteria sustains every single rose we send out into the world.

It is not just about where we come from.  It is about where we choose to go.

Let’s build the next chapter of your market together.
